816 Ventures is a venture studio. We design, build, and ship our own consumer software, and we advise media and streaming companies on the video technology behind their products.
What we do
A studio, not an incubator.
We don't fund other people's ideas. We build our own — in-house, end to end, from the first prototype through the App Store listing and everything after it.

Every product in our portfolio is designed and engineered by the studio. Faves is the first; more are in development.

Years of building live streaming, playback, and second-screen experiences for national broadcasters and sports properties.

Small team, short cycles, real users early. We'd rather learn from something in the world than perfect something in a doc.

iOS & Android · In developmentFaves is a personal ranking app. Everyone already keeps mental top-ten lists — favorite games, films, albums, restaurants. Faves gives those lists a real home, then lets you compare them with the people whose taste you actually trust.
- Top 10 lists by category. Ten fixed slots per list. The constraint is the point — you have to decide what gets cut.
- Three ways to rank. A flat list, S-through-F tier boards, or a drag-and-drop numbered top ten.
- Rich cards, not text entries. Titles come in with real cover art, genres, and release years.
- Built for sharing. Follow friends, see what they're ranking, and send recommendations straight into their lists.
Built with React Native and Supabase. Currently in internal testing ahead of a TestFlight beta.
Advisory
Client work in video, media & streaming.
Alongside our own products, 816 Ventures takes on a small number of client and advisory engagements — the kind of work where deep video experience is the difference between a product that ships and one that doesn't.
That includes live streaming architecture, player and playback performance, second-screen and companion experiences, cross-platform SDK strategy across iOS, Android, web, and connected TV, and technical due diligence.
